MEXICO’S YUCATAN PENINSULA

These images are from a 1987 assignment covering some of the Mayan ruins in the Yucatan Peninsula. Some elements of the area have changed since I took these, so they represents the access I had to these places then. For instance you can’t climb El Castillo any more. But the journey down the Usumacinta river to Yaxchilan is pretty much the same. All photos © Jon Davison 1987.
